The aim of this concession, signed on September 22, 2021 with the Société du Grand Paris (SGP), is to galvanize access to very high-speed broadband in the areas served by the Grand Paris Express. In total, the entire 200 km of the Grand Paris Express will be equipped with optical infrastructure for the 68 stations and station areas of the future automatic metro network.
These installations will directly benefit the passengers of the new metro by facilitating the deployment of mobile coverage. They will also play an active role in regional development, benefiting more than 20,000 businesses, government agencies and research centers. The first customers will be connected to this new network by the end of 2022.
In addition, the operation of technical hosting sites located in the stations and service structures of the Grand Paris Express will enable the Ile-de-France region to become a pioneer in Edge Computing.
For this transaction, a multidisciplinary team from the law firm Cornet Vincent Ségurel assisted RATP Connect, a subsidiary of RATP Solution Ville within the RATP group, during the negotiations and subsequent implementation of the concession contract, the entry into the capital of the sponsors – RATP Connect and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations – and the financing of the project.
